Born-Camberwell

On 18th February, 1915, the 12th Lancers, 5 Cavalry Brigade, 2nd Cavalry Division left their billets in Ypres and moved into nearby trenches to the south-east of Zillebeke, where they remained until relieved on 23rd February. On 21st February, the day on which William Graham was killed, the battalion diary recorded that there was a lot of sniping taking place after the enemy had attacked and occupied a section of the trench held by the 16th Lancers on their left.
